Melanie & Daniel’s Letterpressed Wedding Suite

My wife and I were on a tight wedding budget, but wanted to offer our friends and family a beautiful set of invitations for our wedding which would take place in Guadalajara and Chapala, Mexico. We decided to letterpress the cards, but we knew this would raise the cost significantly. So instead of paying to have our wedding suite printed I built and then calibrated a bottle-jack letterpress. We also bought and cut all of our own paper and I designed the wedding suite focusing on a papel picado theme. From there I mixed all inks and hand pressed a fantastic set of save the dates, invitations, RSVPs, menus, thank you cards, and programs for over 100 guests. The result was spectacular—not only did it pay homage to my new Mexican culture, but it helped to further the experience of our magical destination wedding.
